The event is aimed at young people aged 13–29, and safer space principles will be followed.
“It’s a pleasure to create a safe and welcoming environment where young people can celebrate an important day marking the end of the school year. There’s sure to be something for everyone – and, of course, great company. There is still space to perform on the ODE stage (Omat Demot Esille – Show Your Own Demos),” says Fanny Saarelainen, the driving force behind the event from Taide- ja hyvinvointipalvelut Haluna.
Several performers will take the stage during the evening:
6:00 PM Runonpunoja
6:45 PM Hot Pink
7:00 PM Maya Anette
8:00 PM Jeri-K
9:00 PM Tiikerin vuosi
10:00 PM OG Suntio & Koshiz
In addition, young people can take part in workshops:
6–8 PM Acrylic pouring
8–10 PM DJ workshop
The event will also feature ongoing activities, including a cozy chill-out area, gaming zone, snack table, and a collaborative street chalk art piece.
Omat Demot Esille stage – a platform for young creators
The event includes the Omat Demot Esille stage, which is open to young people’s own performances. Participants can take the stage with poetry, music, dance, or other forms of artistic expression in a low-threshold setting.
Performers can sign up in advance by emailing [email protected]. Each performance may last up to 10 minutes.
Collaboration between multiple partners
The event is organized in cooperation with several organisations working with young people. In addition to the City of Jyväskylä’s Youth Services, partners include Monikulttuurikeskus Gloria, Riemu Finland, Jyväskylän Nuoret Kotkat, Jyväskylän nuorisovaltuusto, Tyttöjen talo, and Taide- ja hyvinvointipalvelut Haluna.
